Laurence Namdar,
PharmD, EA, WMS℠
I'm Laurence Namdar, a PharmD, Enrolled Agent, Wealth Management Specialist, and licensed real estate broker.
My career has taken me through several areas that rarely get considered together: healthcare, tax, real estate, investment advisory, and financial planning.
That combination is intentional in how I practice today.
I built my practice around helping people understand not just the tax return in front of them, but the financial decisions surrounding it.
Before becoming a tax advisor, I was a pharmacist.
Working in pharmacy gave me firsthand experience with the financial realities that can accompany a healthcare career — compensation changes, career transitions, student debt, retirement benefits, and the decisions that come with increasing income.
It also taught me something that has stayed with me throughout my career: good advice starts with understanding the person and the situation, not simply the numbers.
Today, that experience allows me to approach pharmacist and healthcare-provider tax questions from a perspective that goes beyond the tax forms.
I became an Enrolled Agent in 2021 after completing the IRS examination process. Enrolled Agents are the only federally licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS.
Tax eventually became the center of my practice because it sits at the intersection of so many financial decisions.
Income, retirement contributions, investments, real estate, business activity, and major financial transactions can all have tax consequences. Understanding those connections is often more useful than looking at any one issue in isolation.
I'm a licensed real estate broker and have more than 15 years of experience investing in and managing real estate.
I also own and operate a property management firm.
That means my understanding of rental real estate isn't limited to reading a depreciation schedule or reviewing a client's tax return. I've dealt with the practical side of owning and operating properties as well.
That experience informs the way I think about rental portfolios, expenses, depreciation, entity structure, cash flow, and the tax implications of real estate decisions.
Earlier in my career, I earned the Series 65 and worked as an investment adviser and RIA owner.
I also have experience as a portfolio manager and hold the Wealth Management Specialist℠ (WMS℠) designation from the College for Financial Planning.
That experience gave me a broader understanding of retirement planning, investments, and financial planning — and it continues to influence how I approach tax strategy today.
I no longer manage investment portfolios or operate as an investment adviser. I also don't sell financial products.
Instead, I use that background to help clients understand how tax decisions fit into the larger financial picture.
I've spent my career moving between disciplines that are often treated separately.
Healthcare. Tax. Real estate. Investments. Financial planning.
But real financial decisions don't respect those boundaries.
A pharmacist changing jobs may be thinking about compensation, retirement contributions, and taxes at the same time. A real estate investor may be thinking about a purchase, financing, depreciation, entity structure, and cash flow simultaneously.
That's where I believe my background is most useful.
I don't need to be the person managing every part of your financial life. My role is to understand the decision you're facing, identify the tax and financial issues that matter, and help you think through your options.
